7 Appetizers to Make for New Year's
Published December 21, 2021
One of my favorite parts of New Year’s parties is the variety of appetizers. I like being able to have small tastes of different dishes to see what I like best.
Check out the list below to see my favorite appetizer recipes, which you can cook for your New Year’s celebrations.
7. Baked Camembert with Black Cherry Spread
If you enjoy baked Brie, you’ll love this easy 3-ingredient appetizer. You can find the Camembert cheese at Trader Joe’s and customize the jam that is added to the top. I used black cherry. Serve this appetizer with your favorite cracker or bread for a warm treat!
6. Caprese Crostini with Homemade Pesto
If you’re looking for a fresh appetizer, you can’t go wrong with these caprese crostini. Garlicky, homemade pesto, stacked with fresh mozzarella and juicy tomatoes make this a light and tasty appetizer.
5. Caprese Pesto Flatbread
Alternatively, if you’d rather serve a warm appetizer, you can use the same ingredients for the caprese crostini and instead make a flatbread with homemade dough. The dough is easy to make and only takes a few minutes in the oven to cook. Plus, you can top the flatbread with your favorite caprese toppings and homemade pesto. Flatbreads are great for groups and you can cut them into any size serving, depending on the number of people you have for New Year’s.
4. Rachel Hollis's Apple Cider Sangria
Kick off appetizers with a fancy drink! Rachel Hollis’s apple cider sangria echoes flavors from fall with the sparkly colors of Christmas. This is an easy drink to serve alongside your appetizers. Plus, you can make it ahead of time in bulk and have it ready to serve for your New Year’s celebrations.
3. Fried Crab Rangoon with Pineapple Dipping Sauce
Fried crab rangoon takes a little more time to prepare. However, they are delicious and will impress your friends. The pineapple dipping sauce is fresh and bright and adds an additional layer to this appetizer that is worth the time.
2. Delish’s Crab Cake Poppers
These crab poppers are the best. Poppers are great for parties because you can serve them on toothpicks or in individual cups. Small poppers are easy to shape and fry as well.
1. Coconut Shrimp with Piña Colada Sauce
Skip the store-bought and make your own coconut shrimp with a piña colada dipping sauce. This appetizer is bright and refreshing. The dipping sauce is sweet and will remind you of summertime. I find it is a complimentary appetizer to add to a New Year’s party table.
